How to Reset Your Samsung Phone Before You Trade It In

Before you trade in or sell your old Samsung, it’s super important to reset it. That way, all your information is safely removed before sending it in or handing it over to the new owner. Here is our guide on how to reset your Samsung phone:

How to Reset Your Samsung Phone – Option Two:

Follow our step by step instructions below:

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap General management.
  • Tap Reset.
  • Tap Factory data reset.
  • Review the information on the screen to confirm what will be erased, then scroll down and tap Reset.

You may be asked to enter your PIN, password, or unlock pattern to confirm.

If you have a Samsung account, you will also be required to enter your password.

Tap Delete all to begin the process. The phone will then restart and begin the reset

You can remotely erase your phone if you have it set up with your Samsung Account and the “Remote control” and “Remote unlock” settings enabled.

  • Go to the SmartThings Find website on a computer or another device.
  • Sign in with your Samsung account.
  • Select the device you want to reset from the list on the left.
  • Click Erase data and follow the on-screen instructions. You may be asked to verify your identity.
  • Confirm that you want to erase the data and enter your Samsung account password to complete the process.
